Welcome to our website!

Now, more than ever, we ask you to join us.

In a state that’s known as a trendsetter in education and healthcare, Project Bread is an organization you’ll be proud to be a part of.

First, we do not believe that hunger is inevitable; in fact, we believe that hunger can be solved by breaking it into its discrete parts and finding new solutions that fit into the lives of low-income people. We believe in bringing programs to scale, in partnering with others who care, and in working to improve the health of whole populations of struggling people.

For us, the ability to eat healthy food is not about charity, it’s about social justice.

We believe that by improving the food served in all of the state’s low-income schools, you create systemic change and affect the lives of everyone involved — with the change radiating out from the students to include teachers, administrators, staff, and families.

We know this is possible because we’ve proven it over the past six years in our Chefs in Schools Initiative.

Now, in its seventh year, we’re moving what we’ve learned about creating healthy food for low-income children in Boston to other schools throughout the state.

Our organization is home to this and many other innovative ideas to help those who struggle to put food on the table. I invite you to explore our website and help us bring good nutrition and hope to those in need.

Sincerely,
