6th Walk a Success

Despite the brutal heat and sun, we did it!

This was our 6th time doing the walk. At registration we were feeling great and happy to see the overcast skies because that makes the walk easier as the day goes on. From the halfway point on however, the sun came out and we noticed we weren't the only ones slowing down the pace. I think this is the hottest Walk for Hunger we have ever done. It wasn't easy, but the posters along the way and the volunteers cheering us on really do make a difference, and we were able to finish without a single blister, and we knew we were helping families in our community to obtain healthy meals.
