"I'm 94. I've worked hard my whole life. I didn't think I'd need help, but here I am."
Carl is a 94-year-old World War II veteran from Fall River. When he was younger, he worked for a tractor company and retired with a pension and his Social Security.
But this year, Carl's company went under. He lost his pension, and most of his monthly income now goes toward his health care premium. It has become difficult to keep food in his fridge.
By participating in Project Bread's Walk for Hunger, you can help food-insecure elders like Carl access affordable groceries.
Every $25 raised serves 50 people a hot meal. Register now and join your neighbors on May 6 to take action against hunger.
