Project Bread has announced the winner of the annual Holiday Spoons Project Shannon Siviski’s fourth grade class and their second grade buddies at High Plain Elementary School in Andover, Mass. As the group with the best-decorated spoons, these students have received tickets to the Jordan’s Furniture IMAX Theater

WHAT: Senator Ben Downing (D-Pittsfield), Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier (D-Pittsfield) and Representative Paul W. Mark (D-Peru) will observe the first-in-the-nation state funded Chefs in School Program at the Williams Elementary School. State officials will tour alongside Ellen Parker, executive director of Project Bread, Superintendent Jason McCandless, and numerous Williams Elementary School stakeholders.
Project Bread has named Darcy A. Pfeifer as its new director of institutional advancement. In the role, Pfeifer assumes responsibility for fundraising and development as well as marketing and communications. She brings more than 15 years of experience at both nonprofits and for-profit companies, including the management of major corporate partnerships, spearheading national fundraising campaigns and coordinating strategic communications plans.
This summer, more than 50,000 children will enjoy a free, healthy breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner at one of more than 600 sites across Massachusetts—all part of the Summer Food Service Program, a federally funded nutrition program that provides free meals to children ages 18 and under when school is not in session.
